Carlos Eduardo Zaveleta writer, considered one of the leading exponents of Peruvian literature in the twentieth century, died Tuesday in Lima, at age 83, his family confirmed today. Zavaleta

died of natural causes although until recently he seemed in good condition. Even less than a month ago was responsible for the speech in tribute to San Marcos University, the dean of America, paid him the Nobel Prize in Literature 2010, Mario Vargas Llosa.
The writer, a member of the prestigious "Generation 50", noted in particular as a storyteller. His short stories are contained in such titles as The Christ Villenas, Clothing mourning, Many Faces of Love, Fog closed and the anthology The Fire and the routine.
He also wrote short stories as The Cynic, The Ingar and learners. In its production there are many reminiscences of the countryside, where he spent much of his early years after the birth in the Andean town of Caraz.
Zavaleta's work was also important as a teacher and critic and is considered as one more effort in Peru introduced the works of James Joyce Irish and American William Faulkner, who devoted their major studies.
Vargas Llosa, for example, publicly thanked him have always approached these authors su juventud. "A él le debo, sin dudas, haberlos descubierto", escribió.
